Crossing the Andes
by Jose Enriquez
Ecuador is known as the belt of fire for the number of active volcanos which exist in the Andes mountain range. The mountain shown here is the Cotopaxi, one of the most active volcanos in the world with its perfect cone-shaped top. The trains of Ecuador have passed through these mountains unifying the three regions of the country; the Coast, the Highlands and the Jungle. In this way, the travels of the train became voyages of dreams at 3000 metres.
